Senior Patricia (Tricia) Gibbons (she/her) is ecstatic to be rejoining The Scituation for her second year–this time as a Co-Editor-in-Chief. Wanting to leave her mark on The Scituation and Scituate High School, she plans to help new and younger students who are looking to become involved in journalism. As a member of the journalism leadership team, Gibbons hopes to increase The Scituation readership, and continue to make it a respected resource for the school and Scituate community.

Gibbons's passion for journalism began during her freshman year when she joined the Journalism Club–she is now co-president of this club. She took Introduction to Journalism during her sophomore year and Advanced Journalism last year, joining three staff writers who were juniors. Continuing her dedication to reporting, she is the co-founder and president of “whatsthescit,” a student-led video segment of The Scituation, via an Instagram account that is popular in the Scituate community.

Commenting on her academic interests, Gibbons said she enjoys English courses, noting that AP Language and Composition, which she completed during her junior year, was one of her favorite classes. Gibbons is a well-rounded student who also enjoys history and science classes. With the goal of attending a four-year college or university, she intends to major in nursing and English with a possible minor or concentration in journalism.

Gibbons is a member of the National Honor Society, French Club, Model United Nations, and the varsity track and field team. Additionally, she is participating in the Irish Exchange. Gibbons looks forward to her last year at SHS, saying she is excited for her "final ride as an SHS Sailor.”
