Stella Thrift

Stella Thrift, Staff Writer

SHS junior Stella Thrift (she/her) is known throughout SHS as a creative, open-minded, and kind student. Thrift joined The Scituation staff for the first year after taking Introduction to Journalism during her sophomore year and finding a passion in student journalism. Her favorite subject is English, and she is considering pursuing journalism at the college level. Outside the classroom, she enjoys "binge reading" books, especially books from the horror genre.

Thrift's talent in writing was recognized early during her middle school years when she won an award for a short story she wrote. As a member of The Scituation staff, Thrift is looking forward to writing stories that shed light on aspects of the Scituate community that often go unnoticed. With Thrift’s open-mindedness, she brings a new refreshing perspective to The Scituation.

Thrift enjoys international travel, and may even consider studying abroad. Last summer, she visited Greece and Germany with her family, where she admired the architecture as well as the countryside. During a previous family trip, she visited Scotland, Ireland, and England, where she grew to appreciate the traditional homes and castles.
