Elizabeth Kurtz, Staff Writer

Despite having no experience in journalism, senior Elizabeth (Lizzie) Kurtz (she/her) is ready to jump into something new and exciting. As a Scituation staff writer, Kurtz is eager to learn more about the Scituate community after moving from Hull during her freshman year. Known by her peers as passionate, funny, and caring, Kurtz hopes to carry these attributes through her writing to send a positive message about the school and its community.

Outside the classroom, Kurtz is an exceptional athlete. As team captain for the cross country and track and field teams, Kurtz has a passion for running and hopes to continue after high school. She participates in local races in her free time, recently completing a triathlon. As an active member in clubs such as Model United Nations, Allies Not Bystanders, and the National Honors Society, Kurtz is a well-rounded student.

Kurtz’s main goal for her senior year is to have fun and savor time with her friends. She has a passion for science and hopes to go to medical school and pursue a career as a doctor. Determined to enjoy her time while succeeding academically, Kurtz plans to close her high school experience on a high note. Hoping to find her journalistic voice this year, she is thrilled to be part of the Scituation team and wants to make the most of her time.
