Calling all SHS students!

Can you say the word “good” for longer than 10 seconds? Then you may be in luck because we are on the hunt for a student to deliver next year’s morning announcements. To qualify, You should have an excellent attendance record. You should also be someone who regularly checks your emails and demonstrates plenty of enthusiasm. If you are interested, scan the QR code on the posters around the school for more information to sign up or check in with Mrs. Hall in Room 246. Applicants should submit the form by the Friday after the break, April 28th. Gooooooood Luck!

Requirements:

  • Submit an essay no longer than one page in length outlining why you want the position. Include any past experience, how you plan to captivate your audience, and what qualities make you a good candidate. Feel free to get creative! Please note it will be reviewed by an AP Language and Composition teacher and senior students — so make sure you spellcheck!
  • The top 5 student essays will move on to the elimination round.
  • Each student will be given 2 days to read morning announcements—the first day without any coaching, and the second day with student feedback submitted to Mrs. Hall. A final vote will determine next year’s announcer!
