Candidates were recently announced for the Principal position at SHS. The school committee is expected to make a decision later this week. What follows is a short profile of each candidate, their experience and job history. Some students met the candidates in a luncheon in which the students asked questions to each candidate about their plans for SHS and how they would act as principal.
Eric Anderson – Currently the Principal since 2008 of White Mountain Regional High School in White, NH, Anderson has also served as Assistant Principal of that school between 2002-2005, and also as Principal of Bethlehem Elementary School from 2005-2008. He has coached wrestling, football, and has also served as a drama director, as well as a social studies teacher in Illinois. Senior Madison Hayes said “He seemed like he had a good vision of what he wanted SHS to feel like, and how he would accomplish this.”
Elizabeth Grindle – Grindle is one of the assistant principals at SHS, and has served as such since 2008. Previously, she taught mathematics at Marshfield High School for six years and also coached girls soccer. Senior Alaina Reinhardt said “She’s good for connecting with the students. Junior Jody Walls, who participated in the screening committee for the position, said “After viewing all three of the candidates, they all have strengths and weaknesses. However, any of these three would be a great leader at SHS.”
The school committee and Interim Superintendent Dr. Kelleher will be announcing the decision at the School Committee meeting Mon. May 7.
