Starting this article has actually been a challenge for me, because I was forced to resist the urge to beat my top score in Temple Run. I had the game on my iPhone for a few weeks and was never really intrigued by it, until that one golden day. This game has literally changed my life, or should I say it has become my life. Basically, Temple Run is on the same level as shelter, air, and food for me. It is a necessity. When someone nudges me, when I receive a text, or even when I feel an itch start I know I am doomed.
After many guilty attempts of trying to get the attention of veteran Temple Run addict senior Kathleen Lydon, she finally looks away from the screen and reveals, “Temple Run is my soul.” Who ever knew that a man being chased by monkeys through a maze and collecting coins on the way could be so addictive? The main concept of the game is to collect as many coins as you can and run as far as possible without crashing into a tree or falling into water. The more coins you collect the more power ups you can buy with them, such as invisibility and coin magnet. You can even choose between a variety of characters, each with their individual skills. And the best part about this life-changing addiction available on iTunes is that it is free!
Even though it’s pretty challenging to think about other apps besides Temple Run, iTunes does have an impressive library of very useful apps. Some apps we would never even think of using, but once we have them they become our best friends. All of us have those songs that we hear on the radio and can never find the name of it, or even background music in a movie that we always loved but never knew how to search for it. Shazam is the perfect way to solve those musical mysteries. Simply press the big blue button and you have your answer. It does not get easier than that.
Another useful app for all you drivers out there is Gasbuddy. Want to know which gas stations are close to you and which ones are the cheapest? Gasbuddy will give you the answer. All you need to give is your zip code.
Remember those pre-cell phone days when walkie-talkies were the “must have” item? You can relive those days now with the Voxer app. You can send pictures and talk to your friends immediately. Without even opening their phones, your voice will instantly come out. Some people find it scary, and some people love it. Find out what you think by downloading Voxer now!
Some of the more obvious apps include social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and even Flickr. Who could have imagined that your phone would give you access to basically all your Internet needs? The iTunes app library is expanding by the minute, who knows what will come next?!
