SHS senior Reese Ponichtera (she/her) is known for her ambitious, outgoing, and kind personality. As a student-athlete, Reese is heavily involved with the SHS tennis team, having been recognized as an all-star and a scholar award winner. Currently, she is the team’s only captain.

Expanding her involvement at SHS, Ponichtera is extremely well-rounded in her extracurriculars. Her involvement includes participating in the Math Team, founding the Red Cross Club, and serving as president of the Student Council. Additionally, she has been a dedicated delegate for Model UN throughout high school, competing in state and international conferences.

After taking Introduction to Journalism during her freshman year, Ponichtera is looking forward to writing comprehensive stories, picking topics of interest, and having opportunities to go out into the community and hear new perspectives.

With a specific interest in writing stories about health and wellness, Ponichtera aims to explore the fields of medicine and biopsychology in the future.
