Senior Peter Nelson (he/him) is pursuing his interest in journalism this year as a staff writer for The Scituation. A dedicated student and talented varsity swimmer, golfer, and baseball player, Nelson is excited to write thoughtful stories that will interest the SHS community. 

Along with journalism, Nelson enjoys playing music and fishing with his dad.

Known for being curious, approachable, and dedicated, Nelson has an important leadership role at SHS as president of the National Honor Society.

As a student journalist, Nelson aspires to apply what he learned in Introduction to Journalism and become more confident in his writing by participating in a more competitive setting. With the specific goal of making his writing engaging and meaningful, Nelson seeks to excel in all of his academic classes. 

Along with writing and English, Nelson enjoys math and physics. He hopes to define his senior year by demonstrating outstanding effort and supporting his classmates. After graduating from high school, he plans to attend college and pursue a career that involves applying mathematical principles.
