Entering her senior year of high school, Madelyn (Maddie) Poppish (she/her) brings a modern and sophisticated outlook to The Scituation as a staff writer. A former member of the Journalism Club during her sophomore year, Poppish plans to utilize her interest in pop culture and music to expand coverage of the arts at SHS. 

Aside from her success in English courses, Poppish enjoys math and is excited for her year in AP Computer Science with SHS math teacher Kerri Hallihan. Next year, Poppish plans to attend college for design and hopes to obtain a role specifically as an UI/UX communications designer. 

Known for her creativity, intelligence, and friendly personality, Poppish excels in numerous extracurricular activities. A member of the History Honor Society, Poppish is also the president of the SHS History Bowl club. As an avid member of the SHS Debate Team, she hopes to win a meet this year. 

In addition to her involvement in SHS clubs, Poppish is a student-athlete, golfing for the Scituate girls’ golf team. Described by her peers as driven and kind, Poppish is a highly respected member of the SHS community.
