Creating a Class Code for those interested in participating, a total of 65 students and teachers joined. Brackets cost 5$ with a maximum of five brackets for each person. The winner from each grade won a total of eight prizes. The prizes included a $25 Chick-Fil-A gift card, $25 Rivershed gift card, $15 Dunkin Donuts gift card, two free large pizzas from Domino’s, $15 Nona’s gift card, $10 Pour gift card, $10 Coffee Corner gift certificate, and a Scituate sweatshirt or sweatpants.

With Gonzaga University and Baylor University dominating and ending the seasons of many college basketball teams, the two powerhouses faced off in the Men’s National Championship. Many people predicted this matchup from the start of the tournament. Gonzaga was expected to win it all, being the number 1 seed, and they had an excellent team. But Baylor wanted the “W” more than Gonzaga and won 86-70. There may have been less excitement because Gonzaga was predicted to win it all, but in the end, Baylor went home with the trophy.

The Women’s National Championship was more intense every second of the game. With the University of Arizona Wildcats being the 3rd seed and Stanford University being a top seed, the game was a close match. With one minute left in the game, Stanford was up by four and held the lead for the rest of the game by one point. In the end, Stanford beat Arizona 54-53. The hard work and continued dedication from every team were shown in the final quarter.
