SHS senior David Murphy will be honored on Sunday, January 28th, during a banquet and reception at the Envision Hotel in Mansfield, Massachusetts, as this year’s VFW Voice of Democracy speech finalists are recognized for their achievements. During the banquet, student finalists will learn who will represent the State of Massachusetts nationally.

Murphy was among 70 students who entered this year’s local competition, which was held at Scituate High School in October. During his junior year, Murphy’s Voice of Democracy speech placed second in the SHS competition and was shared with local veterans during their annual Veterans Day breakfast.
