Senior Sleigh Ride: Cooper Prophet Brings Creative Energy to SHS

December 8, 2022
This year’s Senior Sleigh Ride just got a lot more fun and interesting with the addition of senior Cooper Prophet. Sometimes referred to as “Coop-Dog” by his friends and family, Prophet’s unique first name, Cooper, comes from his family’s long history as barrel makers.
Prophet was born in Pembroke, moved from there to Norwell, and eventually landed in Scituate. Beyond the South Shore, one of Prophet’s favorite places to visit is Antigua, an island in the Caribbean with a tropical climate and warm water.
Actively involved in his community, Prophet takes pride in his work with videography, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and drumming for the SHS band.
When asked about his favorite memories at SHS, Prophet said he especially enjoyed playing the drums during this year’s “This is Our House” event at the beginning of the school year. Prophet also looks forward to playing the drums during winter concert season, as he is a valued member of the Honors Symphonic Band. This year’s winter concerts are scheduled for Tuesday, December 13th, and Thursday, December 15th. Both concerts will take place at the Performing Arts Center starting at 7:00 PM.
After graduating from SHS, Prophet hopes to attend college for videography and eventually plans to make a successful business out of this passion. Last year, Prophet’s personal credo video was voted the best by his fellow AP Language and Composition students in the junior class.
Prophet counts his senior year as his favorite year of high school, as he is able to manage his classes without being overwhelmed. If he could bring one person on the Senior Sleigh Ride with him, it would be his home base teacher, Meredith Pumphrey.
