SHS Spanish teacher Nicole Clifford grew up in Marshfield, having moved there in 2nd grade. She graduated from Marshfield High School and went to the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, to earn her degree in psychology and Spanish.

During her time at Holy Cross, Clifford studied abroad in Peru for six months, staying in the country’s capital, Lima. While in South America, she took trips to the jungle and the desert. She also visited the ruins of Machu Picchu. Through this experience, Clifford learned a great deal about Spanish and the culture of the language.

After moving back to Marshfield and working as a substitute Spanish teacher at Gates Middle School, Clifford joined the staff of the high school in September of 2020. Currently, she teaches Spanish II and III. Clifford said she doesn’t have a favorite class; instead, she looks forward to seeing her students each day and helping them gain proficiency in the language.

Apart from teaching, Clifford enjoys spending time with her dog, Pumpkin, a 13-year-old wheaten terrier.
