Senior Cafe Upgraded

The “Senior Cafe” was introduced at SHS in the fall of 2017 after the previous teachers’ lounge was re-purposed as a lunchroom for seniors. After April vacation, seniors were astonished to discover new furniture and a new vibe. Transformed from an uninspiring room to a vibrant place to eat and work, the space currently resembles a Panera Bread restaurant.

With upgrades including new paint and restaurant-style booth seating, the senior cafe is a popular location for seniors. Senior Matt Fishman said the cafe is a “little less dreary.” Senior Jack Hill said the Senior Cafe is going to be “innovative” and has “potential to be something better.”

SHS juniors are also excited by the progress they have seen so far, and they hope to see more high-tops and booths added to the space. Some students even want a mini-fridge, a television, and a soft serve machine!  Students indicated they would also enjoy a game console so they could play Fortnite.
