Whether you go out with your friends, family, or your partner, days like Valentine’s Day should be fun, loving, and memorable. Scituate Harbor is a hotspot for food, music, and a fun night, making it a strong option for holidays or date nights.
To make your Valentine’s plan decision a little easier, we took it upon ourselves to investigate the places with the best deals, atmospheres, and specials in the Harbor, and share our opinions on the best places to take your Valentine.
We visited three restaurants around the harbor and interviewed managers from Salt Society, the Galley, and TKO Malley’s to gather details on Valentine’s Day specials and overall information surrounding the big night.
Our first stop was Salt Society, which is known for its very tasty sushi and high-end atmosphere. For Valentine’s Day, Salt Society is taking reservations, which a manager labeled as something they “normally don’t do.” Then they have created a specialized food and drink menu for Valentine’s Day weekend, so if you’re not available to go out on Valentine’s Day, you can still celebrate the day after with the same menu. Within the specialized menu, they offer heart-shaped meals that symbolize love, including “heart-shaped ravioli with ricotta filling and then, in our sushi kitchen, heart-shaped sushi, too.” Although Salt Society is unsure of their specific meal plan, we gathered that their specials are very appealing for this type of loving holiday. Following the specialized menu, Salt Society wants to create a “warm, cozy, and inviting” atmosphere for customers who come in on Valentine’s Day, with an inviting vibe of a fun playlist and a romantic mood, along with dim lighting and lit candles.
Next, we stopped into the Galley. The restaurant recently revamped its menu and is known for its live music events and friendly atmosphere. Upon speaking with the restaurant’s manager, it’s clear they hope to create a very welcoming atmosphere for all groups of people and a space for locals to gather and have a fun night, rather than a traditional, high-end romantic spot. However, they are also running some specials for Valentine’s Day and providing an acoustic set to play throughout the night. For the specials, they’re having both beverage and food specials, such as a scallop dish and a filet mignon. For drinks, they’re offering specialty cocktails, like an old-fashioned called the “Better Than Your Ex Fashion” and a “Side piece martini,” which is a chocolate cherry martini. Aside from the specials and music, The Galley is a great option for a friendly setting to enjoy this lovely holiday.
Our last stop was TKO Malley’s, which offers an affordable deal and a classic, casual vibe filled with friendly locals. After speaking with one of TK’s managers, he said, “We offer a great deal. You get two out of four items for $50, plus a complimentary cup of soup, a complimentary dessert, and complimentary champagne.” As Valentine’s Day might be too expensive for you, TK’s offers an affordable deal, “which, in these times, was trying to be affordable to people.” TK’s is first-come, first-served, so you don’t have to worry about making any reservations for your special night. As TK’s is a very traditional sports cafe for Scituate locals, it plans to stay casual on Valentine’s Day. So, if you’re eager to go out but want to stay local and still have an affordable meal, TK’s is the best option for your special day.
After speaking with managers from three different restaurants in the harbor, we gathered that there are many options for friends, family, and partners to go to that fit their particular vibe. Whether it’s a romantic, fun, or casual vibe, Scituate Harbor will not disappoint throughout its variety of atmospheres.
