Emma Golden, Managing Editor

Back from a summer of Cancer research at Harvard and MIT’s Broad Institute, The Scituation’s brainiac, and Managing Editor, Emma Golden is ready to make her last year at Scituate High School count. While she can’t wait to get into the schools of her dreams, Emma is making sure to enjoy all that senior year brings her, especially writing for The Scituation. As an avid writer, Golden was approached by Mrs. Hall, the teacher adviser of The Scituation, who told her that she would be a great fit for the publication. At first Golden was worried that she wouldn’t be a good enough writer, but she quickly put her skills to use and found herself at home. Writing is only one of her many passions. A lover of science, Golden aspires to be a biomedical engineer and surgeon, designing and transplanting artificial organs into sick patients. The friendships and connections she made working at the Broad Institute this summer have only furthered this passion.

While Golden is known for her glittering academic achievements, it’s her equally dazzling personality that takes the prize.

A Scituate girl at heart, Emma enjoys driving by Minot, eating soft serve from Dribbles, and taking long romantic walks on the beach with her dog Sadie. Another activity she enjoys doing in her free time is messing around on her keyboard, and teaching herself songs using Youtube. Late at night, you can find her in her room with her lanterns turned on, and her speakers blasting her favorite music, writing her next short story or essay. Golden says she draws lots of inspiration from these zenful moments. When asked if she would rather fight ten duck-sized horses or one horse-sized duck. Emma told us that she would fight the horse sized duck. Why? Because she would tame it and name it Hercules.
