Senior Taylor Varnum is participating in her first year of writing for The Scituation. As a member of the writing staff, she’s expecting to create great content. In the future, Varnum is looking forward to her college years and plans on majoring in business and minoring in interior design. She participates avidly in Student Government by working as the secretary for the Class of 2019. Not only does she work to improve Scituate High School, but she strives to improve the lives of others. Going into her junior year, she participated in the Appalachian Service Project (ASP), and as a freshman, she worked with young children at a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) camp. Along with giving back to the community, Varnum also works as a busser at the Barker Tavern in Scituate. Even with her busy schedule, Varnum still makes time for her personal interests. In the fall, she plays for the SHS field hockey team and frequently babysits in her neighborhood. Even with her busy schedule, Varnum still takes time to unwind by watching HGTV. This myriad of passions and experiences will contribute to her well-researched content in The Scituation. It is apparent that Varnum values and appreciates the opportunities presented to her and makes the best of them by helping the world around her.
