It’s that time of year. Most seniors know where they will be attending in the fall, and are mentally packing up their bedrooms in preparation for their late summer move in days. Amid the piles of clothing and miscellaneous items that they will need come the fall, their handy dandy laptop lies atop the pile. But a question arises that has plagued man for the last few years: Mac or PC?
In today’s society, where people are continually checking their iPhones for the latest news and tweets, Mac software has become an integral part of our day to day lives. From purchasing our current (and always changing) favorite songs off of iTunes to syncing all of our products up to the new and improved iCloud, technology today is becoming increasingly centered around Macs.
“Apple’s effects are huge, considering I use my iPhone for a ton of things,” said sophomore Max DiRado. “Whether it’s listening to or recording music, or just using the apps for fun. I’d say that goes the same for most people too.”
With society revolving around their iPhones and other various Apple products, it’s clear that most college freshman would be better suited for Macs. Shaia Palmer, senior, agreed with DiRado, noting that society probably could not last without Apple.
“I feel like Mac is more reliable,” she said. “Plus I’m already on that Apple movement.”
With all the various applications and settings that Macs have to offer, they also offer more than just a laptop. “I take a lot of pictures and I can easily upload and organize all of my photos just in iPhoto,” said senior, Danielle Martin.
In addition to helpful apps like iPhoto, Macs normally have faster internet connections and are more modern than PCs. In addition, Macs are normally smaller than most PCs and are known as “space-saving” and an “all-in-one desktop.”
Going into a year that is full of uncertainties and questions, college freshmen can take comfort in the reliability of their Mac. In reality, there really is no question on which laptop you get for college; because once you go Mac, you never go back.
