SHS English teacher Rachael Sweeney joined the high school faculty this year after completing her teaching practicum at SHS last spring. With SHS English teacher Kate Harwood as her mentor, Sweeney gained experience as a high school educator while instructing Introduction to Journalism and AP Literature classes. This year, Sweeney is teaching AP Language and Composition and sophomore English classes.

A graduate of Pembroke High School, Sweeney said she “did not have the best [high school] experience because of being shy and quiet.” Sweeney later attended Bridgewater State University, where she discovered her love for teaching.

Outside of school, Sweeney enjoys knitting, crocheting, and gardening.
